Walks Map

All our walks on one interactive map

We now have all our walks on one map, so you can navigate round the area looking for a walk that meets your needs. And all our walks now have the distance added to the titles, so that you don't need to open them to find out how long they are. Both these changes were suggested by regular users of this site, Jason and Carol, who have tried out many of the routes along with their dog Fred.

How to use the map

  • The left-hand icon in the blue bar below reveals the table of contents for the map.
  • The square icon to the right opens the map in full screen.
  • You can use the + and - signs on the map to zoom in
  • Once you have zoomed in, click on the green walkers icon to reveal the walk details and find a link to the individual walk pages.

As always, feedback welcome. Please use the comments form below.

Thanks

  1. I have done this walk several times and it is a lovely quiet walk with two good pubs on the route. I actually start the walk in Bayford so Little Berkhamstead and the Five Horseshoes pub is about half way/two thirds of the way round. I was wondering if there is an app with all of these walks where I can actually see the route of the walk and track it with GPS instead of following the instructions? I have used the app AllTrails before which is fantastic but unfortunately it doesn't have any walks in Hertfordshire on there yet. If you have any suggestions please let me know.

    1. Hi Eleanor,
I think we have interactive maps on most of the walks now. If you click on the link to them you can access the KML or GPX files and follow with a smartphone.
