Walk 56: The Great Wood, Northaw

Three shady, well-defined trails

Three trails: 2.75 miles, 1.5 miles, and 0.75 miles

A footbridge along Walk 56 The Great Wood, Northaw

The Great Wood at Northaw is one of our favourite walking spots. There are three, well-signposted trails. And in the middle you will find picnic tables. There are toilets at the car park, and you need to take a £1 coin for the car park honesty box.

There are three trails in the Great Wood. The Yellow Trail is 2.75 miles, the Blue Trail is 1.5 miles, and the Red Trail is 0.75 miles. All are well signposted. Just follow the way markers with the colour bands around the top.

Just watch where you step; most dog owners are responsible and clear up after their pets, but, sadly, some don't.
